Channel 5 will start its journey from the very beginning of Bengali New Year.  This is the first movie Channel in Bangladesh. Channel 5 already prepared itself for test transmission from 4th April.

For bringing dimension in the program Channel 5 will telecast English, Hindi, Urdu movies, film based entertaining show, news & cultural events whether Bengali movies are the main content. Most of the program will be in Bangla. Channel 5 already started buying movies and programs from India, Pakistan & Hollywood to compete with the other channels. It will telecast 24 hours program by using APSTR-2 E satellite. Not only south Asia, by using other satellite it will extend its telecast through Europe, Middle East, Africa & USA. Channel 5 will start its journey to create international market of Bangladeshi movies. It will appear not only as a channel but also as an industry itself. Star Bangla Television Ltd is the concern authority to provide programs and maintenance. But Star Bangla will continue its producing, marketing, export-import to international film market. Channel 5 authority said they will bring a new taste to program & advertisement in Bangladeshi perspective. Beside local advertisement, its main target is to collect regional & international advertisement. It will bring extended taste movie based Hindi Channel Zee Cinema or urdo channel Silver screen. Authority hopes that they can create a great boom to the viewers.
