We have paid for this Road from Kenbari Bazar to Sreeramshi a long time ago. All the political leader promise the Road to Sreeramshi will be develop and highlighted, but I found they had awarded martyred Saad Uddin’s cousin of chairman Akmol Hussain a gold medal to keep our mouth shout to develop the road to Sreeramshi and forgotten the martyred villager road once they have promised a long time ago. we had to gave up the hope of getting government assistance and locally managed things like Kenbari Bazar Road to Sreeramshi from our own fund. As many as 126 innocent people were shot dead and they embraced martyrdom. The unknown village became a part of the great history of the nation's liberation war. Out of 126 shot dead on 31 August 1971, Some of the dead were identified as Cousin of chairman Akmol Hussain, ( 1 ) Headmaster Saad Uddin, ( 2 ) Tahshilder Ahea Chowdhury, ( 3 )Satya Narayan Chakravarty, ( 4 )Syed Ashraf Hossain, ( 5 )Shafiqur Rahman, ( 6 ) Firoze Miah, ( 7 ) Sunu Miah, ( 8 ) Ala Miah, ( 9 ) Nozir Miah, ( 10 ) Abdul Mannan, (11 ) Waris Miah, ( 12 ) Manik Miah, ( 13 ) Abdul Jalil, (14 ) Dobir Miah, ( 15 )Morom Ullah, ( 16 ) Montaj Ali, ( 17 ) Sarwar Ullah, ( 18 ) Rais Ullah, ( 19 ) Abdul Majid, ( 20 ) Abdul Latif Ekhlas Miah, ( 21 ) Mokhtar Miah, ( 22 ) Samir Ali, ( 23 ) Abdul Hai, ( 24 ) Shamsu Miah, ( 25 ) Soab Ullah, ( 26 ) Rufu Miah, ( 27 ) Rusmot Ali, ( 28 ) Asab Miah, ( 29 ) Taiyab Ali, ( 30 ) Roab Ali, ( 31 ) Tofazzal Ali, ( 32 ) Mosoddor Ali, ( 33 ) Abdul Hannan, ( 34 ) Abdul Barik member, ( 35 ) Shudhangshu tailor, ( 36 ) Syed Jahir Uddin, ( 37 ) Post Master of Sriramshi post office. Crippled ( 1 ) Amjad Ali with bullet on his body still bears the black memory of that day. The other bullet wounds include ( 2 ) Soil Uddin, ( 3 ) Haji Alkas Miah, ( 4 ) Zoahir Chowdhury, ( 5 ) Amzad Ali, ( 6 ) Topon Chakravarty, ( 7 ) Sundar Ali,, ( 8 ) Hushiar Ali, and ( 9 ) Alkas Ali. Nearly 80 out of 126 innocent people were unidentified as martyred of 31 August 1971. The unknown 80 martyred could have been from any village or anywhere from the world and have family and blood. I believe some their family upto now knows they were working in this unknown remote village of Sreeramshi on that martyred hours, they wanted to visit Sreeramshi to pay homage and smell the forgotten the martyred village. The wife’s of Samir Ali, Taiyab Ali, Mosoddor Ali was alive before this year 2012. They were known to me, as my relative. The incident got a wide coverage in the world media including the BBC also. Same way, the Pak army men enacted a similar incident at Raniganj bazar in Jagannathpur upazila on 8 September when 30 people were shot dead in a brush fire. Also they burnt out the Raniganj bazar soon after. After the end of the liberation war, Commander in Chief of the war-Gen MAG Osmani and the then Agriculture minister Abdus Samad Azad visited the Sreeramshi village to pay homage to the luminous sons. Azad was born at the same upazila. Also he was elected to the parliament from that constituency. Besides, there had been many commitments to take measures for remembering the martyrs. The remote village was once named Shahid Nagar, but it did not continue. Later, we had to gave up the hope of getting government assistance and locally managed things like Kenbari Bazar Road to Sreeramshi from our own fund. Who can we encourage our old and young children visit our place of birth without any proper Road and security in the country or any places. Those MP’s promised a long time ago the Road to Sreeramshi will be develop and highlighted, but I find the people have awarded a gold medal to keep our mouth shout to develop the road to Sreeramshi and forgotten the martyred villager road once they have promised a long time ago. The unknown village became a part of the great history of the nation's liberation war. I was in London in 1971, I heard and was told all the villagers of Seeramshi has been killed and there is no village to be seen or the village has been burn. My High School friend and Room mate of Qumar para, Sylhet, the Headmaster of Seeramshi High School, Saad Uddin and my cousin Samir Ali who use to look for me if I am not in water and doing all the school work I should have done, I still ask my self why the Rajaker leader from the nearby Hobibpur-Ahmed Ali Khan help to kill my best loving cousin Samir Ali, and many of my students. Can you imagine who one can rest and passed without receiving any news from anywhere, then I heard, Abdus Samad Ajad and nearly 29 Delegations has came to London, I had hope they can tell me the perfect news about my country and village. I found the Hotal they were given accommodations for night to pass for UNO at Geneva. I manage to meet Peeny Majumdar MP. They couldn’t tell any News about my home land. They wear all in Kolkata that time, so I was helpless, I didn’t give up until I had to go home find my way to home. I found out it was 31st August Tuesday 1971. About 20 to 30 members of Pakistan Army on 8 to 9 boats came to the Sreeramshi bazar of Jagannathpur thana at about 10 AM. They asked the villagers of Sreeramshi and the adjacent ones to gather at the just attached Sreeramshi High School building immediately for joining a discussion to form peace committee, Some of the local collaborators also made an announcement. They also said, the measure had been taken to avoid any untoward incident and for ensuring peace in the remote villages. Otherwise, there would be a mass killing, they warned. Accordingly, the villagers about 200 in number with a sincere belief, reached the school ground. A Rajaker leader from the nearby Hobibpur-Ahmed Ali Khan whispered an army man something, resulting in an action by some others with Sten gun and other weapons. As the villagers were waiting for the so-called meeting with great anxiety, the army men took some young students, teachers and others to a separate room in the school. Again they picked up groups of 15 to 16 people to separate groups kept along the narrow canal, that flows between the school and the small bazar. Also the army tied their hands, pulling them behind their back. Within a short time, the killers stood them up in a square and asked them to recite their Kalema. Things went wrong and before the innocent villagers could realize any thing, the Pak army opened brush fire on the Bangalees. The water in the narrow canal became reddish with the blood of peace loving men, who were just cheated by the killers. The dead included, Post master, Tahsilder, UP Member, students, youth, traders and local elites. Then the army men poured kerosene oil in the shops in the market and set those on fire. There was no sound or any cry of protest. Then the occupation army men went on rampage at the village. Also they set some of the dwelling houses and shops at the bazaar ablaze. With the spread of the news of such a mass killing, the rest of the people also left their homesteads in the remote villages nearby. However, after 3 days, a handful of people from the nearby villages managed to reach the village and found some of the remains of the human bodies and buried those somehow I have tried to find the day after 31 August 1971 when my second brother Rusmot Ali a seamam was killed by infection. Im so sad it took me fourty year to find the fact why my brother was not given any fast aid or treatment for the wounds and was laying in for good. I didn’t understand while we had two best loving Mayers, three best supported councillors at London from that martyred village Sreeramshi and a best serving gold medallist chairman as Akmol Hussain, I found the way to Sreeramshi with a car with hearting my back and falling outside the Road. All the political leader promise the Road to Sreeramshi will be develop and highlighted, but I find they had awarded him a gold medal to keep our mouth shout to develop the road to Sreeramshi and forgotten the martyred villager road once they have promised a long time ago.
